What you actually need to start
Lesson 3 of 5 in this module · 6 min read · 3/59 overall
Most people never start because they think they need a studio, a team, a portfolio, and ten thousand dollars. You need almost none of that. Here is the real list.
What you need
- A niche you can name in one sentence (Module 2).
- A service menu with set scopes and set prices (Module 3).
- A way to reach prospects: email, DMs, or your phone.
- A booking link and a way to take payment. The platform's invoicing handles payment; any scheduler handles booking.
- A free Agency Label account. The platform is your back office from day one: clients, requests, reporting, invoicing, and a portal your clients log into.
- A delivery answer. Your own AI agent connected to the platform, the white-label team, or both. Either way, delivery is solved before your first client.
What you do NOT need
- A finished portfolio. You can sell with demo sites you generate for prospects (Module 4 covers the demo-site hook, the strongest opener in this business).
- An LLC on day one. Get the first client, then register the business. Lesson 2.5 covers exactly when and how.
- An office, employees, or a rack of software subscriptions.
- To know how to design or code. You need to know what good looks like, which Module 9 teaches you.
- Permission. Nobody is going to hand you this.
You can be set up to take your first client today. Everything on the "need" list can be done in one afternoon.
The one-afternoon setup
- Create your free platform account and poke around: add a fake client, open the portal, look at what your future clients will see.
- Pick a working niche. Not forever, just for the next ninety days.
- Write your one-sentence positioning line (Module 3 gives you the formula).
- Set up a booking link and a professional email address.
- Build your first prospect list of twenty businesses (Module 4 shows you where).
The reason people overbuild before starting is fear dressed up as preparation. The work that matters is talking to prospects. Do the afternoon of setup, then spend every working hour on Modules 4 through 6.
The course is free. So is the platform.
Everything in these lessons runs on the Agency Label platform: clients, requests, the portal, reporting, invoicing, all on the free tier. Create the account when you're ready, or book a call if you want to talk through your setup or white-label delivery.
