Module 2 · Pick Your Niche

How to choose a niche that buys

Lesson 5 of 23 · 6 min read

You do not need to love roofing to build roofing websites. Passion is a trap here. Pick by buying behavior: which businesses have money, need a web presence, and buy without a six-month committee.

The four signals

  • They make real money per customer. A new roof, a legal case, a kitchen remodel — high ticket means a website pays for itself fast, so they buy without flinching.
  • They already advertise. If they spend on Google or Meta ads, they understand that marketing makes money. Easy conversation.
  • They have competitors with decent websites. Competition creates urgency — nobody wants to look worse than the shop down the road.
  • You can find a hundred of them in an afternoon. If you can build a list easily, you can build a pipeline.
Local service businesses hit all four: roofers, HVAC, dentists, med spas, law firms, gyms, contractors, landscapers, plumbers, clinics.

A simple way to decide

List five industries you have any connection to — a job you worked, a family business, a hobby. Score each against the four signals. Pick the highest score you can stomach talking to every day. Done. Stop researching and move to your offer.

This is the part most people skip.

The lessons are free. The delivery is the hard part — and that's ours. When you're ready to put a client's site in front of a real studio, book a call.
