Module 6 of 12 · Price & Close

Closing and the deposit

Lesson 6 of 6 in this module · 6 min read · 31/59 overall

Closing is not a trick. It is making the next step so clear and easy that "yes" is the path of least resistance. If discovery was honest and the proposal was tight, closing is mostly logistics, and logistics are where beginners fumble.

Ask for the deposit

Do not wait for them to bring up payment. "Sounds like a fit. I take half up front to lock your build slot; I will send the invoice now and we can kick off this week." Assume the sale, make moving forward feel like momentum, and stop talking after you ask.

Mechanics that close faster

  • Half to start, half at launch. It protects you and signals they are hiring a professional, not trying one out.
  • Invoice through the platform so paying is one click and you see the moment it lands. Never chase payment over text.
  • The care plan starts at launch, billed monthly in advance, on file from day one.
  • The moment the deposit lands, send the onboarding form and the "here is what happens next" email (Module 8). Momentum is a service you provide.
No deposit, no work. Not "the logo mockup while we sort payment," not "kick off Monday, invoice Friday." Free work gets ignored; paid clients show up, send content, and treat the project as real. The deposit is not just cash flow; it is the client behaving like a client.

Scarcity you do not have to fake

You genuinely run limited build slots: your review time is finite even when your agent is fast. Use it honestly: "My next slot is the week of the 14th; after that, early next month." Real scarcity, calmly stated, moves decisions off the fence. Fake countdown timers are for people selling courses.

After the yes

Two habits, both cheap, both compounding. First, confirm everything in one email: package, price, timeline, next step. Ambiguity after the handshake is where disputes are born. Second, note what actually won the deal (the demo? the teardown? the reframe on price?) in your pipeline. Ten closes from now, that log is your personal sales playbook, and it will be better than anything a course can give you, including this one.

The course is free. So is the platform.

Everything in these lessons runs on the Agency Label platform: clients, requests, the portal, reporting, invoicing, all on the free tier. Create the account when you're ready, or book a call if you want to talk through your setup or white-label delivery.
