Module 5 · Sell Websites

Closing & the deposit

Lesson 17 of 23 · 5 min read

Closing is not a trick. It is making the next step so clear and easy that "yes" is the path of least resistance.

Ask for the deposit

Do not wait for them to raise payment. "Sounds like a fit. I take a 50% deposit to lock your build slot. I will send the link now and we can start this week." Assume the sale; make moving forward feel like momentum.

Take money properly

  • 50% deposit to start, 50% at launch. It protects you and signals seriousness.
  • Use Stripe or billr.cc so it is instant and professional.
  • The moment the deposit lands, send a short onboarding form and a clear "here is what happens next."
A deposit changes everything. Free advice gets ignored; paid clients show up, send their content, and treat the project as real. Always get the deposit before any work starts.

This is the part most people skip.

The lessons are free. The delivery is the hard part, and that's ours. When you're ready to put a client's site in front of a real studio, book a call.
