Skills and SOPs: teaching your agent your standards
Out of the box, your agent is a brilliant generalist. Skills and SOPs are how it becomes YOUR specialist: a production department that does things your way, every time, without being told twice.
What a skill actually is
A skill is a written procedure the agent loads when it does a matching kind of work: the steps, the standards, the things to never do. "How we build a service page," "how we run the launch checklist," "how we write a monthly report summary." Instructions as infrastructure. If an SOP is a checklist for a human, a skill is the same checklist made executable.
Start from the library
The resources library ships the core set so you start from proven procedures, not a blank page: site build on the boilerplate, small-edit handling, the launch checklist, migration, report assembly. Install them when you connect your agent, and your first requests already run on rails that reflect everything this course teaches about what a converting site needs.
Then encode your edge
- Your niche patterns: "roofing sites lead with emergency repair and the service-area map; testimonials mention the crew by name; every page CTA is a phone call, not a form."
- Your voice: the words you use and ban. If you never say "solutions," your agent should never say it either.
- Your review lessons: every correction from the last lesson becomes a line in a skill. This is how review effort trends down.
- Your client quirks: per-client notes the agent reads before touching that client's site. "Owner insists the founder photo stays on the homepage. Do not move it."
Keep them alive
A skill nobody updates rots like any SOP binder. The habit that keeps them honest: when a review catches a repeat problem, fix the skill in the same sitting. Five minutes now, or the same correction forever. Your skills folder, a year in, will be the most valuable thing your agency owns after the client list, and it is also what makes eventual contractors (Module 11) productive on day one: they work from the same playbook the agent does.
The course is free. So is the platform.
Everything in these lessons runs on the Agency Label platform: clients, requests, the portal, reporting, invoicing, all on the free tier. Create the account when you're ready, or book a call if you want to talk through your setup or white-label delivery.
