Care plans: the recurring floor
The build fee is exciting. The care plan is what makes you stable. Recurring revenue is the difference between hustling for the next sale and running a business that pays you whether or not you close anyone this month. This lesson makes care plans a system instead of an afterthought.
The non-negotiables
- Never launch without one. The care plan is presented as part of how you work (Module 3), attached in the proposal, active from launch day, billed monthly in advance.
- Two tiers keep it simple: Standard (hosting, updates, security, a couple of small edits a month, the report) and Pro (unlimited small edits handled one at a time, plus a quarterly improvement pass).
- Price so that a modest book of plans covers your living costs. That number is your freedom line: past it, every build fee is growth, and you can be calm and picky in sales.
Why the margin is real now
The traditional agency dirty secret is that maintenance clients get ignored because small edits do not pay for human attention. Your model inverts this: portal request, agent handles it, you review in minutes (Module 7). You can deliver genuinely fast turnarounds on small changes at a cost near zero, which means care plans are simultaneously your best margin AND your best client experience. That combination is rare, and it is the moat.
Earn it visibly
- Turn small requests around in a day or two, and let the portal show the trail.
- Send the occasional unprompted note: "Noticed your contact form spam creeping up, tightened the filter." Thirty seconds; renewals for years.
- The quarterly improvement pass on Pro is not filler: one real improvement (a sharper headline, a faster page, a new review block) every quarter, mentioned in the report.
- Every client you keep is a client you never have to re-sell. Retention IS the growth strategy at this size.
The upgrade path
Care plans are also the base of a ladder. Standard becomes Pro when their request volume grows. Pro becomes full website management (unlimited requests, ongoing improvement) when the site becomes their main sales tool. Management becomes retainers when they want growth, not just upkeep. You are not selling them something new each time; you are deepening the same relationship, and the next three lessons are exactly how.
The course is free. So is the platform.
Everything in these lessons runs on the Agency Label platform: clients, requests, the portal, reporting, invoicing, all on the free tier. Create the account when you're ready, or book a call if you want to talk through your setup or white-label delivery.
