Forms, tracking, and proving it works
A site that converts but does not measure is a site you cannot defend at renewal time. Instrumentation is what turns "the new site looks great" into "the site produced 23 leads last month." Here is the layer that does it, in plain language.
Forms: the golden rule
A form submission is a customer standing at the counter. The golden rule: every submission is captured, stored, and delivered somewhere the client actually looks, with a timestamp and the page it came from. The platform's built-in forms system does exactly this, segmented per client: submissions land in the workspace, notify the client, and never depend on some plugin's email deliverability. When a client says "the website never sends me anything," it is always an untested form. So: test every form at launch, on the phone, and confirm receipt. Every time.
The tracking stack (four pieces, all standard)
- Analytics (GA4): who came, from where, what they did. The baseline.
- Search Console: what they searched to find the site, and where it ranks. This powers the SEO story and the monthly report.
- Event tracking: the actions that equal money, fired as events: phone taps, form submits, booking clicks, direction requests. This is the difference between "traffic" and "leads," and it is pre-wired in the boilerplate.
- Call visibility where it matters: for call-heavy trades, a tracking number that logs calls from the site makes the invisible visible. Wire it when call volume is the client's main metric.
What to actually look at
- Leads per month (calls tapped + forms + bookings): the headline number, trending.
- Top sources: search, maps, ads, direct. Tells you and the client where growth would come from.
- Top pages by leads, not views: which services pull their weight, which need work.
- Search terms gaining impressions: next quarter's SEO and content targets, straight from real data.
From data to revenue
These four views are exactly what feeds the monthly report, and the monthly report is what sells the next thing: "Repair queries are climbing and you rank sixth; a focused SEO push gets you into the pack" is a retainer pitch written by the data. Instrumentation is not admin. It is the sales system for everything after the build.
The course is free. So is the platform.
Everything in these lessons runs on the Agency Label platform: clients, requests, the portal, reporting, invoicing, all on the free tier. Create the account when you're ready, or book a call if you want to talk through your setup or white-label delivery.
